I grew up doing gymnastics and have always been the skinny one. But staying skinny honestly took so much effort, especially after puberty.
I was doing hours of cardio, skipping breakfast, going to bed hungry while literally thinking about food all day long. Yes I looked slim, but I didn't feel good in my body at all. Although I kept starving myself, I even ended up skinny-fat.
At some point I realised I had no idea how to actually train properly.
I also felt awkward going into the free weights area because I didn't know what I was doing and it was mostly men in there.
Eventually I did start lifting though. Little by little I learned how to train properly, how to eat properly and how to actually work with my body.
And over time people started noticing: I kept getting compliments about my shape and the fact that my cellulite was gone. I had more energy too and honestly just felt better overall.
Most women just never learned how to work properly with their body.
That's why I coach today.
